I find that in any challenging situation, it helps me to reflect on all that I have been blessed with. Counting my blessings helps me to be thankful for what I have been given in this life. It reminds me of how faithful God has been throughout my life. When I do this, my heart shifts from a fearful one to a thankful one. Gratitude changes my focus and helps me see the sunshine in my life, even on cloudy days. Grab onto the sunshine in your life.
🌤️ Just this month, my daughter and I took a trip. It was the first time I had taken a trip with any of my adult children. It was pretty amazing! What a blessing. We took an 8-hour road trip, which gave us time to talk, reminisce, and sing along with the music. We enjoyed three peaceful days at a retreat. In our spare time, we did some hiking and soaked in the beauty of God’s creation. Those rays of sunshine are ones I’ll always hold onto. Sweet reminders to pause and count my blessings.
If you’ve been following this blog for a while. I hope it has helped you through what you are facing in your own life. My prayer is that you’ve found inspiration and encouragement here. That you’re beginning to see light on the other side of whatever dark season you’ve been walking through. Look for the rays of sunshine you can grab onto.
Sometimes the night feels endless. Grief, pain, or disappointment can close in so tightly we can’t see how light will ever return. But Scripture reminds us, Psalm 30:5 Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. It reminds us that grief and pain are real, but temporary. And that joy and renewal are certain through God’s faithfulness.
🌤️ Micah 7:8 When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. This verse captures how God’s presence meets us in the dark. Not after we’ve fixed everything, but right there in our pain. Healing doesn’t happen when we finally get it all right. It happens when we let God’s grace meet us in the dark. When we trust that His mercy is already reaching for us, even before the dawn. His grace leads us gently toward His morning light. Won’t you reach for a little sunshine today? Remember your blessings and thank Him for them.🌤️
🌄 Even when life feels shadowed, God’s light still rises for those who trust Him. Healing isn’t instant. It’s a sunrise that slowly spreads warmth and color after a long night. Psalm 112:4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
💧 Life is hard, and God doesn’t promise to keep us from those times. He promises to walk with us through them. Healing is about that journey—step by step, held by His grace. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. He is with us during these times. We will not drown in our sorrows if we trust Him.
🌅 Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fails not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Every morning is a new beginning of mercy, not perfection but mercy. A new day to reach for the sunshine and feel a little better. It can be a progression if you do this daily. Try your best to find the rays of sunshine in your life. Count your blessings and be thankful for them when you start your day. Ask God to take your hand, walk beside you, and show you your blessings.
I will leave you with this thought. This is my prayer for you. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace. As you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. This might be new to you. He is right here waiting for you. Talk to Him, ask Him to be your friend, and ask for His help. Ask Him to be beside you and bring you through this trial.
